Editing is the part of publishing nobody can afford.
Anyone can write a book now. Almost nobody can get it edited. A single developmental pass on a full-length manuscript costs more than most authors will ever earn from the book, and the wait is measured in weeks. So drafts sit. Or they go out unready, and the rejections never explain why.
Penmark Studio was built for the gap between “I finished it” and “it is ready.” Not to replace the editor you will eventually hire — to get you to the point where hiring one is worth the money.
Who's behind it
Penmark Studio is built and run by a very small independent team, working directly with the authors in early access. Founder story, names and photos are coming to this page shortly — we would rather leave this space honest than fill it with stock copy.

Three things we won't do
We won't write your book.
Penmark never generates prose for your manuscript and never rewrites your sentences. It reads and it reports. Everything on the page stays yours, which is also what keeps the work publishable.
We won't train on your manuscript.
Your work is scoped to your account and is not used to train AI models, sold or shared. You can export the whole account as a ZIP, or delete it and its contents, at any time.
We won't pretend to be a human editor.
A good developmental editor brings taste, relationships and an argument about your book that a model cannot have. Penmark is the fast, cheap, repeatable pass that comes first.
